Republishing Guidelines

Inside Climate News makes most of our stories available for republication for free by existing media partners and other media outlets, but prior permission is required.

If you are a news organization and would like to republish our work, please send an email to senior editor Erin Schulte to request permission (please include the url of your outlet.)

Photos

We typically cannot grant permission to use the photos on our website because they are sourced from third parties that hold the copyright. If ICN commissioned the photos, they will be credited accordingly, and you may request permission to republish them. Graphic art produced by ICN is similarly available for republication upon request, too.

Changes/editing

You are welcome to rewrite the headline and dek in your own style. Please leave the body copy and links as they are. Changes for style are acceptable. If there are significant tweaks you want to make to the copy to reflect its publication for your audience, please run those by us first.

If you need to cut a story for length, we ask for the right to review shortened versions of our stories.

Embargoes

If you are co-publishing or partnering (vs. republishing), please abide by ICN’s embargo dates and times.
